Wary, wild, wind! We can’t get enough of this interesting weather.  One day the trash goes that way and the next day it goes the other way.  We are gearing up for the arrival of the first batch of meat birds next week.  800 day old chicks will travel via the United States Postal Service from Bancroft Iowa to our farm. Here we go again.

Our growing season runs from late March until early November while the pasture is green. We are planning on 5 batches of meat birds, three in the spring and two in the fall.  From past experience, we’ve learned to avoid raising meat birds in July and August when the heat and humidity is too high.  Thankfully, the cattle and hogs don’t mind those elements.

We’ve been accepted as vendors at the Overland Park Farmers Market for our 7th season. It's surreal how fast time has passed, the crew was soo little.  During the construction of a new pavilion the market will be relocated to Matt Ross Community Center.  That’s actually where we started in 2020 and feel a bit of nostalgia going back.  The opening day is April 19th, we’ll see you there.

What’s our egg status? Our new flock will arrive in late April/early May and we hope to have eggs available by June.
